A person who is fasting may experience dizziness, backache, bad breath, canker sores, cold virus, diarrhea and even strong emotions. Most of which are results of toxin attacks or toxin buildups inside the body. Some of these fasting will change the metabolism rate of a person as well. Some people may experience a sudden withdraw from foods that are used regularly by the body. Others may experience low blood pressure or a dry mouth.
There are also some people who experiences black outs during a fast. This is because during fasting the heart conserves energy, thus, the heart pumps slower and the blood pressures lowers too. Moving quickly from a resting position will cause the blood to flow to the legs. As a result, the brain may not obtain enough oxygen, causing a blackout. Sometimes, the elimination of toxins in the body may irritate damaged nerves. Some skim disturbances might also occur. The skin may become oily because rancid oils are purged from the body and people with problem free skin may have pimples for a few days.
Is Water Fasting for You?
The most common timeline for water fasting is around 30-40 days. There are no rules whatsoever about who can or cannot fast. Mostly everybody can fast but children, sick people and elderly people are not encouraged to fast. This does not mean that old people cannot fast. Elder people are still able to fast but only for a short time. This is to prevent any health problems from occurring.
Water fasting may be an effective method to lose weight in a short span of time. It is a very good method to train one’s discipline, and it also helps rejuvenate one’s body system. Even so, it may be dangerous if not done properly. Thus, it is very much advisable not to water fast if we are not familiar with it.
